Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines added two nonstop, daily flights from Delta's Salt Lake City, Utah hub to Lewiston, Idaho. This new service began in February of this year and is operated using a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. "We are pleased that Delta has recognized the potential in the Lewis-Clark Valley," said Bob Tippett, executive director, Valley Vision. "While supporting the local traveling community, it also puts the Lewis-Clark Valley on the map for potential business and tourism development."
Lewiston is located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers at an elevation of 738 feet above sea level. The valley is rather narrow with a range of hills to the north sloping abruptly to about 2,000 feet above the valley floor.
The celebrated Lewis and Clark Expedition brought Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to the Clearwater Valley in 1805.
